Hi, I am Jojo

John Michael Go

Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Solutions Resource

Software engineer with 13 years building, shipping and supporting enterprise and SaaS systems for financial services, payments, insurance, logistics and broadcasting clients across four countries. I design and ship REST APIs and microservices end to end — service boundaries, API contracts, the relational data models behind them and the CI/CD pipelines that deploy them — in Java 17 and Spring Boot, and currently in production Node.js and TypeScript on the same multi-tenant platform. I deliver applied GenAI on AWS: Bedrock retrieval-augmented services and a Textract document pipeline that removed manual data entry. Nine of those years were inside global delivery organizations, reporting daily to onshore teams across time zones. I tune what I ship, mentor who I work with, and own production support for both.

Software Development Engineer III — Bountiply, a multi-tenant SaaS platform
Solutions Resource

Jan. 2023 - Present, Seattle, WA, USA (Remote)

Since establishment in 2001, Solutions Resource has served an array of organizations globally. Our secret to success – having a team that is driven to innovate and empowered to be agile.

Responsibilities:
  • Designs and builds RESTful web services and microservices in Java 17 and Spring Boot with Spring Data, JPA and Hibernate behind a Spring Cloud Gateway — defining service boundaries, API contracts and versioning, and the OpenAPI documentation front-end and partner teams build against, for a platform serving multiple merchant tenants with isolated data and configuration.
  • Builds, ships and supports production backend services in Node.js and TypeScript on the same platform — designing REST endpoints and integrations, modeling the relational data behind them, and covering the work with unit and integration tests through to production release and ongoing support.
  • Develops the front end in React, Redux and TypeScript against those same APIs — component-driven screens, client-side state management, and the review workflows that non-technical users work in daily.
  • Integrated the PayPal Payments API into the Spring Boot backend with OAuth2, webhook signature validation, idempotency keys on every mutating call and full audit logging — so repeated and out-of-order callbacks settle correctly against a single financial record and a replayed callback cannot double-charge a customer.
  • Built a generative-AI appraisal service on AWS Bedrock with Anthropic Claude, combining multi-modal inference and a retrieval-augmented pipeline with iterative prompt engineering to produce trader-level jewelry valuations from non-invasive metal-concentration readings — carried from a broadly defined problem statement through prototype and stakeholder demo into a deployed customer-facing service.
  • Built an AWS Textract document ingestion and extraction pipeline that reads receipt and invoice documents at volume, normalizes structured fields, scores field-level confidence and routes only low-confidence values to a React human-review UI — removing manual data entry that had previously been done by hand, while raising accuracy.
  • Built a full-stack support portal (React dashboard over Spring Boot) on the Zendesk REST API and webhooks with email and SMS notification workflows, automating ticket handling end to end and giving the support team visibility into open work.
  • Optimizes application and JVM performance — profiling memory and garbage-collection behavior under load — and diagnoses production issues through CloudWatch metrics, alarms and service logs: reproducing reported failures, reworking joins and subqueries, correcting indexes, reading execution plans and tuning JPA fetch strategies to remove N+1 queries as data volume and tenant count grew.
  • Owns the Maven, Jenkins and GitLab CI pipelines that build, run the JUnit and Mockito suites and deploy containerized services to AWS through ECR and ECS across Dev, Staging and Production; leads pull-request review against agreed patterns and holds automated test coverage and deployment documentation as the team’s definition of done.
  • Uses AI-assisted development daily for code generation, unit-test generation and code-review support, and set the team convention that generated code ships only after human review and passing tests.
  • Works as the remote engineer on a distributed team — takes work from request to production without day-to-day supervision, mentors developers on design and testing standards, and works directly with non-engineering stakeholders to turn imprecise requirements into working software.

Application System Engineer / Consultant
Fujitsu WeServ (WeServ Systems International Inc.)

Dec. 2020 - Jan. 2025, Tokyo, Japan

Fujitsu is the leading Japanese global information and communication technology (ICT) company, offering a full range of technology products, solutions and services. Delivered from the Philippines Global Delivery Center to Fujitsu Japan.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosed and resolved production incidents on NHK’s mission-critical digital-TV (CPE) broadcast platform — analyzing application logs, system messages, running processes and resource utilization in a Linux / RHEL environment to isolate root cause and restore service on a national broadcast system where downtime was not an option.
  • Vetted code and kernel-level changes across RHEL 8.2 to 8.10 upgrades, assessing the impact of operating-system changes on application behavior before release so the infrastructure stayed current without disrupting daily operations.
  • Built a centralized, scheduled GUI regression-testing tool in ReactJS with UWSC automation and screenshot capture, replacing an ad-hoc manual validation process and standardizing release verification across the delivery organization.
  • Co-led and mentored a team of junior developers for NTT DOCOMO — assigning, prioritizing and reviewing work, automating regression scripts for Automated Network Logging (ANL), and analyzing results to ensure stable, compliant releases within a global delivery model spanning Japan and offshore teams.
  • Client engagement — NTT DOCOMO (Aug 2021 – Jan 2025): internal proprietary application handling customer data, services and account information. Java, Oracle SQL, batch scripting and VBA macros. Developer and co-lead: assisted junior developers, performed QA execution of integrated ANL features and reported issues back to assigned developers.
  • Client engagement — Sony Bank FBaaS (Dec 2020 – May 2021): cloud service providing a core digital banking system for Sony Bank in Japan. ReactJS, Redux, TypeScript, Git. Followed the established PTS process for technical documentation, test and build preparation, and supported leads in PTS design reviews.

  • Worked from existing systems, stored procedures and batch-job behavior to recover business rules nobody had documented, then re-expressed them as maintainable Java services integrating between core banking systems over Oracle databases.
  • Diagnosed and remediated production defects — reproducing issues, tracing root cause, implementing fixes in production and reporting status daily to onshore architects and client stakeholders across multiple time zones in JIRA-tracked Agile delivery.
  • Built and maintained automated regression suites in Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber and JUnit, configured REST API test cases in Postman and SOAP UI, prepared test data for large integration releases and executed SIT-phase test cases with daily status reporting — reducing the manual effort required to verify each deployment.
  • Prepared and reviewed technical documents and colleagues’ designs before build, and assisted the QA team in validating bug fixes and patches.
  • Client engagement — Macquarie Group, MBL BFS Wealth Management Offshore, Australia (Jul 2019 – Mar 2020): application support for a legacy wealth-platform database in preparation for AWS cloud migration. Resolved production tickets requiring Korn shell script and stored-procedure updates, extracted database queries for delivery teams, handled out-of-sync database records affected by the migration and delivered daily task reports.

  • Client engagement — National Australia Bank, Project Koala, Australia (Nov 2017 – Oct 2018): functional test automation for a banking application. Java, JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins. Quality engineer: maintained the keyword-driven Selenium automation framework and its Cucumber feature files and data sheets, configured XML/JSON REST API tests in Postman, ran SIT-phase execution and practiced Agile sprint planning with onshore team members.
